GIEßHALLE (CASTING HALL)
The run-off stage of a disused blast furnace serves the Traumzeit festival as a concert stage. Where red-hot liquid iron once poured out of the furnace, artists and audience now experience performances in an incomparable setting.
KRAFTZENTRALE (MAIN ENERGY WORKS)
In this giant industrial hall, huge gas machines once powered dynamos, which generated electricity for the smelting works and the bordering workers’ settlement. Today, the 170 meters long main energy works have become one of the most unusual concert halls in the Ruhr area.
GASOMETER
When it was still in use, the Gasometer of the smelting works held up to 20.000 cubic meters of gas, which was a main by-product of the production of raw iron. Today it serves as the setting for an open-air stage at the Traumzeit festival.
BLOWER HALL COMPLEX
In the blower halls, the wind that a blast furnace needs in order to melt raw iron was once produced. To this day, four electro-turbo-blowers remain here. Today, however, the blower hall is an industrial dome with the acoustics of a concert hall – ideal for the innovative productions of the Traumzeit festival.
